Ecological In-Home Family Treatment
The Ecological In-Home Family Treatment Model, developed by Boys Town, is a strength-based program that provides in-home and community support for school-aged youth with significant family-related risk factors. Its goal is to reduce behaviors that contribute to delinquency while increasing protective factors for both youth and families.
The program focuses on addressing youth behavioral problems, improving family functioning and stability, and enhancing youth and community safety. Family Consultants collaborate with families, youth, schools, probation officers, courts, and other professionals to support positive change and prevent out-of-home placements whenever possible.
Working in partnership with the family, the program identifies strengths, needs, and challenges, builds on existing supports, and teaches skills to reduce problem behaviors. A personalized service plan is developed using referrals, assessments, and family input to guide the intervention and promote long-term family stability and healthy youth development.
