School Psychological Services
Since 1968, ESU 13 school psychologists have supported students by providing assessments, counseling, and consultation with schools. While most of their work focuses on evaluating students for special education services, they also help create and implement learning and behavior plans for students. School psychologists support schools with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and help identify the reasons behind challenging behaviors so that effective behavior plans can be developed. They also train teachers and staff in areas like crisis intervention, positive behavior supports, and trauma-informed practices.
Our mission is to provide quality psychological services to all children and youth from birth through 21 years of age in a way that enhances their ability to fully access the educational milieu.
