ESU13 Testifies in Support of LB801

Educational Service Unit 13 was well represented at the hearing for LB801 in front of the Nebraska Unicameral’s Education Committee.

This bill would create a pilot project named Panhandle Beginnings, which would be established as a collaborative educational and therapeutic facility in Western Nebraska to address a growing need of behavioral and mental health issues in school age children.

Testifying as proponents were ESU13 Administrator Jeff West, Special Services Director Laura Barrett, and Licensed School Psychologist Katie Carrizales, as well as Scottsbluff Schools Superintendent Rick Myles.
