Fossil Freeway Highlighted at Wildcat Hills Presentation
Ray Boice thanks ESU 13 for their maintenance of the www.fossilfreeway.org site and materials for teachers in studying the Loren Eiseley publications.
The Fossil Freeway is a corridor map for tourists that leads them from the Wildcat Hills in Gering to the Badlands of South Dakota marking world class fossil finds along the way. George Engelmann, Ph.D and UNO professor specializing in vertebrate paleontology, presented an overview of the geologic history and fossil mammals found in the Panhandle region. The audience enjoyed the presentation and views from the new Wildcat Hills Visitor Center.
