What's Next for VALTS Students?

2nd Quarter Brings Zombies to VALTS!

Why zombies? The topic is fun, engaging and surprisingly relevant.

Zombies are a pop-culture phenomenon that can be used as a vehicle for learning. Zombies as a metaphor become a powerful tool for integrating science, social studies, language arts, and math curriculum. It can help students to process and conceptualize real-world disaster scenarios, explore literature, study the inner-workings of government formation, practice statistical analysis, and discover the science of epidemics and neurobiology.

To kick off our zombie-themed unit, students are in for a special treat. Eric Graise, known to fans of the popular show, The Walking Dead, as the "legless zombie", will be skyping in to VALTS! He will be discussing career opportunities related to the industry, answering student questions and sharing some of the finer points of zombie theater makeup.
