      These charts illustrate summative assessments used by ESU #13 area schools which measure each reading content standard.

Original definitions were developed in a rubric format by assessment development and steering committee members in 2000.  In 2003, some assessment members were involved in a state-wide definition development   process. In January, 2004, the original document, the new state document, and our latest regional curriculum were analyzed for commonalities.  Those commonalities were collected into this version.
Purpose:  Educators will utilize these definitions to make informed estimates of their students’ performance on the Stars assessment.  That prediction is used in the modified group method of setting mastery levels.
